Project Officer, ECREEE
John Kwasi Yeboah is a Renewable Energy Programme Officer at the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) in Praia, Cabo Verde. Joined ECREEE in 2012 and participated in the formulation of major initiatives and programmes such as ECOWAS Capacity Needs Assessment, ECOWAS REDD+ project, ECOWAS Gender Mainstreaming in Energy Access, West Africa Clean Cooking Alliance Initiative and the ECREEE Climate Change Programme.
Coordinator of the ECOWAS climate change programme at the centre, with the pillars of capacity building on Low Emission Development Strategies, research into climate change policy formulation and Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) of GHG emissions. John is currently a steering committee member of the Africa LEDS Partnership and Co-chair of the Energy Working Group for the Africa LEDS Partnership (AfLP) to the Global LEDS (LEDS-GP).
John has over 15 years combined working on Environment and Energy issues with high expertise in research and analysis of climate resilient strategies, GHG emissions monitoring, sustainable clean cooking initiatives, sustainable energy policy formulation, and programme strategies and recommendations aimed at poverty alleviation. John holds an MA in Environment and Development with specialization in Human Livelihood Development from University of London, United Kingdom, and a BSc in Agriculture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.
