Yesufu Longe Alonge has several work experience both in the private and public sector. Apart from being an Engineer, he has a good understanding of technical and commercial synergy of decision making that has contributed tremendously to his work successes over the years.
He graduated from the University of Benin with First class Honors in Civil Engineering in 1997 where he was valedictorian for that session. He went on to do a Masters’ in Business Administration from the same university in 2000. Thereafter, he also completed a Masters in Environmental Management from the University of Lagos in 2004.
In his present capacity at the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading PLC (NBET), Longe heads the Power Procurement and Power Contract team, where he leads in different Power Purchase negotiations (Gas, Coal and renewables) and other financial related enhancing agreements such as the Put Call Options Agreement (PCOA), Partial Risk Guarantee (PRG). He is also shouldered with the responsibility of ensuring proper management of all electricity contracts entered between NBET and its counterparties such as Independent Power Producers (IPP) and Distribution companies. He was the Chief Negotiator in charge of Commercial and technical on the Government side (NBET) for the over $800M Azura Edo IPP 459MW Power plant about to get to Financial close. His Commercial abilities are also evidence in his leading roles in ensuring Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) Tariff related negotiations and necessary guarantees instruments are properly balanced with the right incentives to parties involved.
